Lakenheath Peace Camp: 1st-6th April

Hello EF!ers, this is your official invite to Lakenheath International Peace Camp – April 1st – 6th with an EF! Night shift on April 5th from 5pm.

Bring what you need…sleeping bags, small tent (altho some shelter available), food to share, songs and poetry. More info on what to expect on lakenheathpeacecamp.org.uk

We ask people to read the EF! anti oppression statement and take a covid test before attending and don’t come if you’re sick and or symptomatic! Our immuno-compromised friends are attending and we gotta look after each other xx

Here’s a quick run down of stuff that is already scheduled there’s loads of opportunities to get involved, make connections, to learn and scheme about how we dismantle the military industrial complex:

Wednesday 1st April: Set Up

Setting up the camp and the vigil outside the main gate at ‘RAF’ Lakenheath

Thursday 2nd April: Outreach Day,

Leafleting in Brandon and possibly other nearby towns.

Friday 3rd April: Environment Day

The impact of militarism of the environment with speakers and workshops.

Saturday 4th April: Give Peace a Chance (12noon – 3pm)

People will be arriving from various parts of the country including coaches from London. We will have various speakers discussing the issues around the return of nuclear weapons to the UK and other issues related to US bases in the UK.

Sunday 5th April: Coming Together – Rising Up

Making the links between different campaigns.

EF! Night shift at the gate from 5pm till sun rise

Monday 6th April: Grand Finale – Visions Into Action

With networking during the camp we will turn ideas into action. From campaigns like DontBankOnTheBomb to more active protest.
